Another busy day of tending to other matters besides whatever picks I have. Fortunately my pennies are still looking good, I like the long holding idea.

Anybody know any good videos or articles on reading a financial statement? I have watched Khan Academy's but I'd like for someone to go through a page on Yahoo Finance or something like that..

isnt wikipedia good enough?  or find a youtube video on the stuff if u prefer that.

just search each statement, cashflow, balance sheet, income statement and read through everything.

Well. Due to the small amount of money I have to start trading. That is what I would like to teach myself.

BUT

In the long run, I want to be an investor.

i really dont understand pennies. they dont move based on anything fundamental.  just hype as far as i can tell.  Maybe theres a diamond or two in there but odds are you wont find many.

I bet in the long run most penny traders lose money.

With your money id be looking at options moreso..

When u start with real money and you start making money id recommend taking out all profits for awhile and just work with your initial deposit.  make sense?

That way you dont get ahead of yourself and lose the money u just earned.  I had that problem starting out.  Id make a profitable trade and then started taking bigger positions and lost all of it back.

And if its not just sitting in your account staring at you then you will be better off.  so withdraw it to your bank account as a nice safety net..

maybe u know this, if so im sorry to repeat it.

Its fine I am willing to lay down a certain, small amount to learn the market. I feel that pennies just have different principles than major stocks or options. You're investing is purely statistical and heavily based on timing. My method lately has been buying in when I think that the stock is being sold under what it is "worth" or usually runs at. As with anything it could still plummet, but so far it has had a pretty good success rate.

There are a lot of mixed feelings about them, so I will try to learn and practice options as well hopefully. As long as my trading habits are sensible, I think it is possible to do ok. You are an options champion and I dont know anything so I cant sympathize haha.

Today's winner was ATSG. Looks like I timed the dip pretty well getting in at 3.94 per share, now up to 4.71. Can't complain on that one. Looks like a lot of post-short volume , think I will stay in for another day or two and hopefully lock in some good profits.

JAG did ok. Little bit of a drop, but still on the plus side for me. Still think it is headed up, got it at a good share price. We will see.

When u were talking about pennies i was thinking like .0034 per share or whatever.  pink sheets.

The ones you guys are trading are real companies, just cheap.

No no micro pennies are garbage, as I have learned. At least I would have to be EXTREMELY careful.

Now I am wishing this was real money. LOL.   This is gonna happen in the next few weeks or hopefully few days. I can just wire money to the account right? Going to use ToS I think..maybe Scottrade later. Can't get cocky though. This market can gobble you up. Cheers!

Think I might be finally getting the hang of things though. I pride myself in a simple, logical approach to this. Only simple analytics can give great insight to good trades.
