Take a look at some of Tuesday's morning movers

AT&T [T  35.38        realtime_icon.gif] - The telecommunications giant earned $0.66 per share for the second quarter, three cents above estimates. Revenue was essentially in line, with AT&T also reporting a drop in customer churn and an increase in operating margins.

 

UPS [UPS  77.95        realtime_icon.gif] - The delivery company earned $1.15 per share for the second quarter, two cents shy of estimates, with revenues also light. UPS also cut its full-year forecast, citing economic uncertainties in the U.S. and Europe, among other factors.

 

 

DuPont [DD  48.71        realtime_icon.gif] - The chemical producer earned $1.48 per share, excluding certain items, for the second quarter, two cents above estimates. Revenue was slightly short of estimates, and the company issued a cautious outlook for the year because of a slowing global economy.

 

 

Whirlpool [WHR  67.31        realtime_icon.gif] - The world's largest appliance maker earned $1.55 per share, excluding certain items, for the second quarter, nine cents short of estimates. Revenue was on the light side, and Whirlpool was yet another company to cite Europe and a strong dollar as negative factors.

 

 

Altria [MO  35.49        realtime_icon.gif] - The tobacco producer earned $0.59 per share for the second quarter, beating estimates by two cents. Revenue was also better than estimates, as higher prices helped offset flat cigarette volumes.

 

 

Lexmark [LXK  19.22        realtime_icon.gif] - The printer maker fell four cents short of consensus with second-quarter earnings of $0.89 per share, excluding certain items. Revenue was short of the mark as well, as soft sales gave Lexmark a third straight quarter of revenue declines.

 

 

Biogen Idec [BIIB  139.23        realtime_icon.gif] - Strong sales of the company's multiple sclerosis drug helped Biogen score a sizable beat, with second-quarter profit of $1.82 per share versus estimates of $1.56 a share.

 

 

Under Armour [UA  48.38        realtime_icon.gif] - The apparel maker earned $0.06 per share for the second quarter, a cent above estimates. Revenue was also above Street forecasts, and the company raised its full-year forecast.

 

 

Lockheed Martin [LMT  86.91  ---  UNCH    realtime_icon.gif] - The defense contractor earned $2.38 per share for the second quarter, well above estimates of $1.91. Revenue beat consensus as well, and Lockheed also raised its full-year outlook.

 

 

Domino's Pizza [DPZ  31.99        realtime_icon.gif] - The pizza store operator beat estimates by a cent with quarterly profit of $0.47 per share, but revenue came in on the light side. A stronger U.S. dollar and fewer company-owned restaurants impacted revenues during the quarter.

 

 

Texas Instruments [TXN  26.82        realtime_icon.gif] - The company beat estimates for its latest quarter, but issued an outlook below consensus forecasts. The chipmaker earned $0.44 per share for the second quarter, three cents above estimates. It said, however, that third-quarter earnings per share will come in at $0.41 to $0.49 per share versus estimates of $0.50. The company cited customer caution amid global economic uncertainty.

 

 

Baidu [BIDU  107.10        realtime_icon.gif] - Baidu earned $1.24 per share for its second quarter, 13 cents above estimates, with revenue also above analysts' forecasts. Revenue growth remains strong, although the China Internet search firm is also seeing rising costs.

 

 

VMWare [VMW  89.23        realtime_icon.gif] - VMWare earned $0.68 per share for the second quarter, two cents above estimates. Separately, the software maker announced it’s buying privately held Nicira for $1.05 billion cash, its biggest acquisition yet. Nicira specializes in software the lets customers create virtual networks.

 

 

DeVry [DV  27.56        realtime_icon.gif] - The company is warning that profit for its fiscal fourth quarter will come in at $0.43 to $0.46 per share, far short of analysts' estimates of $0.78. Revenue will also fall short of consensus, and the for-profit education company said it plans to cut 570 jobs to lower costs.

 

 

A late stage clinical trial has found that an Alzheimer’s drug being developed by Pfizer [PFE  23.60        realtime_icon.gif]Johnson & Johnson [JNJ  68.11        realtime_icon.gif], and Elan Corp. [ELN  13.51        realtime_icon.gif] was not effective at slowing memory loss. The trial focused on people who carry a gene mutation that gives them a higher risk of contracting the disease. Results for patients who don’t carry this mutation have yet to be released.

 

 

 

 

United Technologies [UTX  73.28        realtime_icon.gif] - The Dow Jones Industrial Average component, which just sold its RocketDyne unit, may be about to sell its Hamilton Sundstrand industrial businesses.. Reuters reports private-equity firmsBC Partners and Carlyle Group [CG  22.92  ---  UNCH    realtime_icon.gif] are in advanced talks to jointly buy those businesses, which could bring in more than $3.5 billion.

 

 

 

BP [BP  40.40        realtime_icon.gif] - The oil company is in talks with Russia’s Rosneft to sell its 50 percent stake in joint venture TNK-BP, according to a statement by Rosneft. The stake is estimated to be worth $20 billion to $30 billion.

 

 

Garmin [GRMN  35.84  ---  UNCH    realtime_icon.gif] - The GPS device maker's shares might see some residual effect from a 17 percent drop in second-quarter revenues reported by Amsterdam-based rival TomTom.

Netflix [NFLX  80.39  watchlist_up.gif  0.45  (+0.56%)   realtime_icon.gif] - The movie-streaming company posted earnings of 11 cents a share, easily topping expectations for 5 cents a share, and reported revenue of $889 million, in line with estimates. But shares dropped sharply in extended-hours trading after the company issued a cautious subscriber outlook and said a push into a fourth international market in the fourth quarter will lead to a loss.

Broadcom [BRCM  30.77  watchlist_down.gif  -0.21  (-0.68%)   realtime_icon.gif] - The semiconductor company posted earnings of 72 cents a share, excluding one-time items, on revenue of $1.97 billion, beating estimates for 67 cents a share on sales of $1.95 billion. Shares rallied in after-hours trading.

Juniper [JNPR  14.815  watchlist_down.gif  -0.405  (-2.66%)   realtime_icon.gif] - The networking equipment maker posted earnings of 19 cents a share, excluding one-time items, on revenue of $1.07 billion, edging past expectations for 16 cents a share on sales of $1.05 billion. Meanwhile, the company handed in current-quarter profit and revenue guidance that disappointed Wall Street. Shares still edged higher in after-hours quotes.

Norfolk Southern [NSC  71.96  watchlist_down.gif  -0.23  (-0.32%)   realtime_icon.gif] - The railroad company posted earnings of $1.60 a share, topping expectations for $1.53 a share. But the firm reported revenue of $2.87 billion, missing estimates for $2.93 billion. Shares were largely unchanged in after-hours trading.

Aflac [AFL  42.02  watchlist_down.gif  -0.39  (-0.92%)   realtime_icon.gif] - The insurance company posted earnings of $1.61 a share, in line with estimates. But revenue came in at $5.9 billion, well below estimates for $6.28 billion. Shares tumbled in extended-hours trading.

Panera [PNRA  141.91  watchlist_down.gif  -0.81  (-0.57%)   realtime_icon.gif] - The fast-casual restaurant chain posted earnings of $1.50 a share on revenue of $531 million, topping expectations for $1.43 a share on revenue of $518 million. In addition, the firm handed in a better-than-expected current-quarter earnings guidance. Panera soared in extended-hours trading.

Tempur Pedic [TPX  27.11  watchlist_up.gif  0.10  (+0.37%)   realtime_icon.gif] - The mattress maker posted profit of 45 cents a share on sales of $229 million, beating estimates for 38 cents a share on revenue of $327 million. Shares jumped in after-hours trading.

Riverbed [RVBD  14.55  watchlist_down.gif  -0.11  (-0.75%)   realtime_icon.gif] - The networking hardware company posted earnings of 23 cents a share, ex-items, on sales of $199 million, beating estimates for 21 cents a share on revenue of $194 million. Shares surged in after-hours trading.

Annie's [BNNY  37.20  watchlist_down.gif  -1.97  (-5.03%)   realtime_icon.gif] - The organic food producer posted earnings of 12 cents a share, in line with estimates, while revenue edged past expectations. This is the first earnings report from the company since going public.

Buffalo Wild Wings [BWLD  78.90  watchlist_down.gif  -1.79  (-2.22%)   realtime_icon.gif] - The restaurant chain posted earnings of 62 cents a share on revenue of $239 million, missing expectations for 68 cents a share on sales of $240 million. Shares plunged in after-hours trading.

TripAdvisor [TRIP  43.47  watchlist_down.gif  -2.14  (-4.69%)   realtime_icon.gif] - The travel website posted earnings of 41 cents a share, ex-items, in line with estimates. But revenue was much lighter than expected. Shares tumbled in after-hours trading.
