Exactly, all the world leaders go to the Mayo Clinic or John Hopkins hospitals in the US to get their procedures and operations done. You won't see them going to Cuba or Thailand.

I kind of agree / disagree with the USA having the "best" medicine on the planet. Yeah, we're top / near of the food chain on newly developed medical technologies and drugs. That being said, drugs ain't all that they're advertised to be.

"Modern" medicine only really has a few hundred years on the table. Homeopathy, natural medicine, and eastern medicine on the other hand has been around about 2000 years. Which is better? I guess it's up to the individual and what they can afford:

..."At least eleven American Presidents used homeopathic medicines or sponsored legislation to allow homeopathic practice (Lincoln, Tyler, Hayes, Garfield, Arthur, Harrison, McKinley, Coolidge, Harding, Hoover, & Clinton)…and two British Prime Ministers (Disraeli and Tony Blair)...."

http://aeura.com/2011/01/famous-people-using-homeopathy/

The Queen of England also uses homeopathy as her 1st choice:

"...A journalist for The Daily Mail newspaper (UK) writes about Queen Elizabeth II on the occasion of her Jubilee. It includes an item about how she never travels without her 60-remedy homeopathic kit, and how she once treated one of her Corgis - "If it's good enough for me, it should be good enough for my dogs."....

So if the wealthy choose more natural medicines over "modern" medicines, and they have a choice just by being wealthy, then they must know something.

Obviously, our choices for the general public in America just got shot down. The best treatments will never be part of "modern" medicine as long as the pharmaceutical companies control medical books for med students.

Talk to someone with experience. Me! laughing.gif

I have had a bad back for about 12 years and with the medication I can live a normal life and still play golf. That's priceless.

8 weeks ago I had surgery for a hernia. I walked in and out and that night I did some trading. There is a new technology called Lathoscopic Surgery but I opted for the old fashion way which over time has been proven to be more successful. The 8 inch incision took longer to heal but that was to be expected and I don't think I could have gone anywhere and had better results.

I agree all have their good the bad and the ugly sides of medicine ( new or old ). Some work some don't, but we should be able to choose ourselves which we want to put our own bodies through....not the government.

My body belongs to me and no one else....so far...laughing.gif

The money we make off of investments is going to  be taxed at a much higher rate now thanks to Obamacare. The ACA was never intended to fix our healthcare system, it was created to break down our capitalistic system so that a decade or so from now we'll be living in a full fledged socialist country.
