How much is the typical commission rate for online stock brokers

I will be soon be opening an account on one of those sites such as etrade or scott. and I was wondering how much is the commission they take (IF ANY) if I'm only there to buy and sell stock.. simple as that.

Just going to their home pages and clicking commissions will tell you exactly. To answer your question, roughly $7-$10 per transaction.

oh okay, I knew about that. that would be considered their fee to trade but on top of that is there like a hidden commission fee if you make capital once you sell a decent stock that was a gainer?

capital gains tax.

 

this depends on your income / tax bracket / state

but in all seriousness, a lot of people don't know about capital gains tax so I'm just pointing it out. the real hidden fee is when you don't pay it and they come knocking on your door. not fun.
