if a sorry ass stock like LNKD can break $100, it should be no problem for facebook ....just my 2 cents...laughing.gif

So how exactly does it work on eTrade?

I want to get in on some shares at 28-35 and flip them that day for a profit.

If it doesn't bounce up to what I want it to I'll just hold on...but how do you do that through eTrade?

It says I'm ineligible to participate.

I filled the profile out and everything...how do I become eligible?

Don't know how.

I use Etrade and most IPOs I have to fill out some long questionnaire.

With FB I just typed in my e-mail and said I was eligible?

Requested 50 shares for fun!

I like that, thats great lol

I don't think you need 200k to become eligible. I participated with nothing near to 200k but offered to purchase 500 shares at 50. I think they just pick the larger investors. what does everybody think?

Maybe they have a little lottery going.

laughing.gif johndoe making money in the markets is not easy... take a look at some of the recent IPO's that have been released recently:

YELP, LNKD, GRPN, ZNGA, P, CZR ... and how they have performed the days after the initial offering

i'm not advocating anything, but just pointing out a couple things you might want to consider before making you're decision

Looks like the majority of the recent IPO's would have been better played short.

this one will be interesting to watch-

If I play FB it will be to the short side when and if the timing is right.

there is so much hype around FBs IPO. I wouldnt dare get into these boiling hot waters early- someones bound to get burned-

however, I will be watching closely as I suspect there will be lots of volatility. It should make for some interesting trades

I was looking the prospectus and could not find if buyers of the stock, prior to public sale,

have to hold the stock for a time before they could sell it.

Anyone know?

I agree def. will be interesting to watch the show on this one.

I will be watching as well,I look for it to sell off first or second day, then go up.. IMO .. I will buy some when it settles down,
