Will the stock be priced before the end of the stock market day today?  I assume it would have to be priced today to be sold tomorrow.

Put it this way, those people have every reason to sell on Friday.  180 days is a death sentence.

My "conditional offer" in via etrade with a set limit price.  I consider it a bid for shares. Your guess is as good as mine as to what it will open at. . .

Are you buying your shares at midnight when the stock market isn't open in 12 hours?

If it is a bid system how does that work?  It's not like my Merrill Lynch account has a bidding system where I place trades.  It just has the regular market/limit order stuff.

FB is $38/share.

jim cramer says DO  NOT BUY FIRST DAY OF TRADING!

Merrill Lynch says you can't place a limit order for FB until 8am EST tomorrow.  Make sure you put in your one share for $1000.

Ächem, after reading this whole thread. And participating.

A lot of people are trapped in the hype we trying to avoid with this site.

What to do is easy.. You can

Daytrade them the first day with 10 or 50 k $$

and make 5 or more cool trades.

I loved the IPOs 10 years ago. There was a time there was a IPO every few weeks.

Sitting there hoping you have the right name and waiting for the start. Then the Chart appears. Ok, los gehts..

Or, the day after. Monday. Great start for a nice Swing week.

Or 2 or more Daytrade days.

But if you want to a long term trade, i would wait 6 Months or more.. At least.

I don't want to get caught into the hype but with everyone in the world going "don't trade facebook the first day" if that thing prints in the low 30's because of everyone being scared I'll pick up shares for the long term.

I'm playing ZNGA though for now as play off of $FB @ $8.16

"don't trade facebook the first day"

never said that. I said play FB the first days, its fun.

But not long term, there is a better entry..

Not selling until 11am EST!  How exactly does that work, by 11am they will have a billion trades piled up.

OK, thanks. I thought you were talking about a limit order. If you want this for sure I would enter a market order because you have no idea what the value is. Just a suggestion.
