elliott wave help please

Thread Starter

So i was reviewing the overall elliott wave structure for this bull market. And noticed this Rule for wave counts: Wave 3 should not be the shortest wave among Wave 1, 3 and 5.

I have wave 1 from the 666 bottom to may 2011, 1370

and start of wave 3 from the oct 2011 low of 1070.

since wave 3 has to be the longest of the wave, wouldn't the minimum target be (1370-666)+1070= 1774?.....

seems a bit off to me.... anyone care to chime in?

This problem might be that the waves you're counting are not motive bullish waves but instead are corrective bullish waves in an overall bearish market.  The time frame you outline, imo, is an A-B-C correction that makes up wave 2 in a bigger bearish wave down.
