Thread Starter

I am starting this thread because I have been looking for this information without easily finding it with a simple google search.

this should help make it easier to find----

I mostly have questions not answers as I am still learning.

things Im hoping you will post in this thread include:

How do you setup your tos account to help you scan for pinch play stocks in the works-

How do you add the PPO to the charts ( I dont see it as a study) - if you use the thinkscript what paramets to you use and how do you set that up?

How do you setup your ADX? parameters?

How do you setup your other indicators? RSI MACD Psar TRIX +/-DI and whatever else you use?

How can you overlay some of these indicators and which ones?

How you setup your Volume profile info?

how do you setup the TOS ultimate pincher?

pinch away

I know this is for TOS, but if you're trying to find a setup for a pinch play, use something like stockcharts.com or freestockcharts.com

It'll make life a whole lot easier.

I only use the volume profile.

I set up a daily profile on an intraday chart with expansion off.

I also set up a monthly profile on a daily chart with expansion off.

Then a 3 month profile on a weekly chart " "

and finally a 12 month profile on a monthly chart " "

Also, hansen gives good advice for setting up the traditional pinch play using the sites mentioned.

Also, check our Rock Sexton's Pinch Club journal (1st page).

He's now more of a price action trader but his older stuff with the indies/settings are in there.

thanks Ichi-

and what type of trader do you consider yourself?

I am still trying to figure out what type of trading is right for me. I have had a good chunk invested for years in a nice portfolio of stocks. then a couple years ago I traded some penny stocks. That was ok, but I did not like the liquidity of them. I made very little on those trades.

I have been paper trading using tos platform for the past couple years now trying different methods, and I am always trying to learn new ones and try them out. my favorites so far include different options trading strategies-

what studies do you use with tos? any that you like in particular>?

I trade swings and I also day trade. Same strategy is used either way. The swings just take longer to play out and of course are based

on higher time frames (Daily, 1hr).

I started with ichimoku as trendy mentioned above. Then I moved onto VSA. Then Market Profile/Volume Profile.

Now I use my own proprietary code for trading.
