NFLX: I took up 10cts on the weekly 95 puts at .30 ($300). Total lotto/gamble here but i really like this short here. 3 full trading days to move 5%

Dont want to make a habit of holding positions overnight on this account, not risking any more than the profits i had today.

Could get interesting if downward momentum takes out the psychological $100 mark, watching the ~$98 50% fib level off the 11/30 high and short term technicals should shift down if we visit that road.  Only thing that concerns me is NFLX tends to make it's move early in the session and consolidate throughout the afternoon -- hoping you get the move (with cooperating underlying indexes) off the open here:

yea, totally a gamble here on NFLX, not a huge position by my standards so hopefully worse case i come out with minimal losses.

GOOG for earnings i keep telling myself to not do anything with due to premiums

However I can't help but look at this from a short standpoint. This 626 level has become crucial the last 2 days with wicks piercing it but not closing under. I'm thinking GOOG misses on earnings and falls to last earnings levels as highlighted. I'm thinking the lagging CS falls under price action from last candle.

Also something to note, price action relative to the TS/KS for the last ~6 earnings has been shown up front. Meaning if price is bullish in relation to the TS or bearish in relation to the TS, earnings has followed that trend. Currently we are under the TS (blue line and trying to pierce the pink KS.

with weekly options so expensive i'm still on the fence, its basically a $1k bet here so i'll need to make sure i'm feeling confident come 3:59pm tomorrow lol.

it wasn't a money management issue today, i was still within my % loss i could withstand, just nobody wants to sit on a $1300 loss, why not take the profit when it presents itself?

Until these plays pan out 200+% we will continue to call you "kyle" before reverting back to "kyles", sorry for the inconvenience.

lol, i wont be holding till 200%, unless i scale down position sizes or something. Going to re-evaluate that on tomorrows play since account is growing nicely.

Account update:

Played NFLX almost perfectly this morning, wanted to get entry on a spike up to the last POC around 104ish, but seen buying was light so got in around 2.98, sold 30 minutes later for $4.05 and $1750. hindsight, those puts went to $6.60 and I left a ton but super happy with the account and its growth.

Still looking to play puts on NFLX as I think we are about to see another 10-20% drop over the near term.

Going to scale back position sizes now upon entry as the account grows.

NFLX:

Closed just outside the Kumo cloud on the daily. All bearish signals are in place with this close. I'm hoping for a flat open tomorrow or a minor gap down, i'll enter the weekly 100 puts slowly, and on a breach of 97.9 (weekly KS) i'll add to the position. Think next stop is $93-95ish.

A good amount of times, the follow day of a kumo breakout we can see a fairly large candle. And the way volume increased the last 2 days on a breach of the POC around 104.80, i think sellers are in cruise control here for a meltdown.

Kyle made a career move to Arizona, he's just getting settled over there and likely won't be able to actively trade for some time.

I've been trading 90% e-mini futures but I'm going to dip my toes back into some beta options starting this week (likely as early as tomorrow).  Will post corresponding trades as close to real time as possible.

Phoenix Area June Home Sales

The Phoenix region’s median sale price edged higher again last month, rising on a year-over-year basis for the seventh consecutive month to the highest level since late 2008. The number of homes sold fell from both May and a year earlier as foreclosure resales and sub-$150,000 transactions continued to dwindle, a real estate information service reported.

Ehhh that's only true during certain parts of the year .....

We've had days of 105-110 with 50-60% humidity during the monsoon season so far.  There'll be plenty more of that on into September. It's disgusting.   Then when it's not humid, we get the laser beams of dry heat to enjoy.  It just sucks the energy out of you.

Funny thing about the supposed "dry" weather.  You know when it really sucks?  When we're at our coldest down here in the valley.  There's virtually no moisture in the air so the cold weather bites your face off.  When we get down into the high 20's, low 30's at night in the winter I hate it.
