This always happens. See how many times ZNGA and GRPN were propped up before finally falling.

They're always gonna give the stock a chance before breaking it down.

If you read, that sale was planned prior to the IPO.

He cashed out the majority of his stake. Shows
how confident he feels about the long term prospects of the company.
That or he just wanted to cash out whatever he could get

Ya but come on, do you really think he would have sold all those shares if FB was was bullish right now? I know it was "planned", but plans can change. The fact that one of the earliest investors and directors of FB didn't want to change his plan and was content with selling off $1bil in stock says something big about the company IMO, and the market seems to agree because FB is down significantly today.

You can't read too much into these insider sales. Sometimes, they can be a good indicator, but more often than not it is just noise. If you look at the insanely low price these guys got into FB, and the ones who were just given tons of shares for helping start the company, it makes sense to sell at these levels for hundreds of times their investment.

Buy the crap out of FB here, and cover short positions. The risk reward for a long position is one of the best I've seen. 40-50% upside with a 5% or less stop.

You got all these shares being freed up this month and a shi$ load of people who want to unload so I reckon it sees an upgrade or two so that it climbs or pops before the next whack kicks in again. They need to get people to buy in order for them to sell.

Another big reason they need to pump up the price is for acquisitions. This drop has already jeopardized the Instagram deal, and now they'll be paying twice the shares for future deals.

you ain't seen nothing yet... wait til the Nov/Dec pigroast when insiders and employees dump the next round of shares and the tax loss sellers put the exclamation mark on this POS...

still overpriced as a value buy. I like facebook, and use it, but it doesn't really make that much money for the company it is. Maybe if Steve jobs were alive and took over, and made some huge chang on how to monetize FB properly. well, maybe FB will be a great company one day, but they need a visionary leader that is ahead of the curve.

What FB needs is a better business model ..
