Absolute beginner, hello

Hey guys I'm really new to the whole trading scene, in fact i should have probably lurked quite a bit more but to be honest I'm too confused to lurk. I really needed some guidance as to where to begin. A few things in particular which I feel that I could really benefit from ...

 

1. There are a lot of "trader" terms if I can call them that, which I'm not familiar with. Although I could pick these up with time I'd prefer a resource which I can refer to.

 

2. I checked some tutorials in the beginner section specifically the one on using charts and TA. I was wondering how I could practice what I learned ... which brings me to my next point

 

3. Whats a good paper trade site so I could practice, experience is invaluable to me.

 

4. I am an absolute beginner I have NO prior knowledge about anything to do with stocks and trading, where do I, or do you think I should abandon this idea for the time being and actually get a job first. I really love learning so I thought this might be interesting.

 

Thanks for all the great help, this forum seems so organized and intelligent compared to what I have recently seen.

TD Ameritrade. Open an account but you don't have to fund it.

You're welcome. Spend a lot of time educating yourself before you trade. Everything you need to know is in the Education Forum.

i thought the answer would be something like that, thanks for your help now to start doing some more learning

You saw my references in bold? As you start learning ask questions when you need answers and someone will reply. I recommend just watching the stock trend and do not get involved with all of the different chart patterns. My chart consists of the 20 SMA, 50 SMA, 200 SMA and MACD.

 

Sign up in my groups section because I have a new thread about my learning experiences and you'll benefit from it. I'm getting ready to add more to it.
