its a good bet to go out to 2013 contracts.. by mid summer (2012) or wait just before and not all at once to adjust for if supply still builds.. when demand might be at its lowest.

The fact that its cheaper than coal might spur winter consumption, more so why not stock up before then in the fall?

maybe this is a stupid question but what is stopping someone from buying the april natural gas contract @ 2.00 taking delivery & selling the jan 2013 contract for 3.00 and selling back the physical commodity. your making 50% by doing that........

ok so it closed 2.01 today thats fine ...now i'll get greedy and say i want it to close the week over 2.10 but will still take the stabilization of over 2.00 and be happy

well, april contract expires in 2 days. may contract trading at 2.07. maybe that will make you feel better.

I might be the only person that lost money shorting UNG this year. lol

 

 got out on monday with a small loss but my 1st time playing this so was small position anyway.

 

whats the significance of 2.10?

next sign i am looking for after a close over 2.10 this week will be a close of 2.25 end of next week...that would just about convince me that the bottom is in and the overall long term trend has reversed...sure there will be ups and downs but could be a good time to think about going long...as i am and have been ...and quite early in doing so but it'll work out wink.gif
