I grew up in Sparta, just north of Grand Rapids. Our summer place is in the Manistee National Forest just east of Brethren, Mi. I'll post pics. Beautiful view you have from your deck. We are two miles from the Atlantic in Fl and I never go to the beach anymore.

My photo album. These are pics of my place in Michigan.

The original cabin on 40 acres bordered by the Manistee National Forest.

Cabin2.jpg

Because it's so remote there were constant break ins and then someone torched it.

After the Fire 2.jpg

Our new cabin. When we leave the cabin goes with us.

Our driveway.

Front yard.

I dragged in this 60' green tree from the forest. It had fallen from root rot and weighed several thousand lbs.

First job is to cut it into 18" lengths.

14 Inch Saw.jpg

Then each peace has to be split several times.

After a few months of work this is what you end up with. We call this stack #1

Wood.jpg

This is stack #2

If I'm awake I'm outdoors morning till night. Some people call me a senior citizen and I would like to see the younger generation when they got done with this job. laughing.gif

eek.gif Man... That's despicable. Did they catch the little bastards who did that? If I were a judge I'd throw the book at them. That's just sickening.

I have a lot of friends that are LEO's so this isn't anything personal but only one time was a guy ever caught and it was a deputy sheriff. No one was ever caught in regards to the fire. The deputy was selling marked tools belonging to a neighbor at a flea market.

Damn. I guess things are getting bad in Michigan. My sister and her boyfriend were there last spring, and got pulled over by the police for speeding. The cop said that if they gave him $40 he'd let them go. wtf? That's illegal, officer. LOL

Yeah that state is in major debt and I will personally never live there. My company even decided to steer clear of that state lol We about bought a company and then decided nahhhhhh

Bob very nice place you got there though, my grandfather has two different places him and my step grandmother park into one in central Missouri and the other down in Texas. He is back home right now because he had to have some back surgery, but those two are typically always traveling around to all sorts of places.

Hi everyone!

Wow Bob, that's a lot of wood :oP Looks like a great place to relax.

I'm Eric, I joined HSM to learn more about stocks and hopefully purchase one day. I'm a 24 year old guy living in the lower mainland BC, Canada.

I've been doing web development since '98. On my spare time I hang out gaming, programming, and such.
