For years the trend has been for AAPL to run up into earnings. I believe they report next week, can't remember for sure, but IMO that explains the slight break of all time high and the call heavy options action.

Seriously.... what is going on with home builder stocks?   A bunch of them are screaming right now.  I WORK in the construction industry and I don't even know what's going on...

What are you seeing in your area?

Are things slow vs last year or expecting improvement?

According to KBH, things should be rocking! lol

I work for a very large commercial construction company so it's slightly different from mass home production, but our industry tends to follow closely behind.  Our outlook, as well as many other large commercial contractors, is actually worse in 2012 than it has been in 2010 and 2011.

Excerpt:

I believe the anemic volumes we are seeing in the major indices are the result of three main factors:

Large overnight gaps which have accounted for almost all of the gains for the year
A general lack of enthusiasm/participation in the rally
Lower correlations between equities which has shifted market participants’ focus to individual equities/sectors and away from the broad indices.

It's official, this market sucks. I gotta find some individual names to play, indexes are w/o a pulse.

Weird... bonds are now up I believe over two full handles from yesterday at 8 AM. Either a huge aberration or big money is readying the ship to go down... a lil' bit.

FSLR losing steam here

Every day this week, ES has hit a two handle range every half hour for the first three hours. Also the trend of one extreme holding and the other end of the range narrowing (i.e. either higher lows or lower highs) has also played out. I'm down to eight fingers, chewed off one yesterday and one this morning.

Lots of bids, but no awards....almost like they are just testing the waters....structural steel
