Re: SUWN(.185) Bird Flu Disinfectants in China

SUWN has been in play the past couple weeks due to strong net income/EPS report. Many may not recall that SUWN is strongly involved in Avian flu, per the following article/PR on their website:

http://www.sunwin.biz/temp/html/press_detail_3.html
Fort Lauderdale, FL, March 15, 2005 - (Business Wire) - Sunwin International Neutraceuticals, Inc. (OTCBB: SUWN), a leading manufacturer of Chinese herbs, veterinary medicines and low calorie natural sweetener (Stevia) in China, announced today it has launched a new series of veterinary disinfectants for fighting Bird Flu Virus that threatens to create a human pandemic.

Sunwin’s scientists have developed a new series of veterinary disinfectants against Bird Flu Virus based on Chinese herbal technology that Sunwin owns. This product can effectively kill any kind of Bird Flu Virus while it meets national sanitary standards. The most important feature of this new product is that it is “green” product which does not cause pollution to environment and with no toxic residual. This series of products is becoming more and more popular in the market place because they are easy to use and safe to environment.

The greatest concern is that these ever-changing avian viruses could develop the ability to spread from person to person, resulting in a fast-moving, global pandemic.

Pandemic influenza has the potential to devastate human health right throughout the world, and therefore an effective disinfectant is crucial to prevent us from global pandemic in the first place.

Dongdong Lin, Sunwin’s CEO, commented, “Sunwin will apply more resources in marketing and promotional events to increase its market share. We expect the sales of our
disinfectants will continue to grow substantially, as the Chinese government is committed to controlling measures nationwide and consider the fight against bird flu
as a long-term commitment. Our new products are one of the most cost-effective tools for tens of millions of Chinese farmers in containing spread of any avian
influenza virus. In the meantime, Sunwin is negotiating with foreign firms and seeks to export this series of products to foreign countries influenced by Bird Flu
Virus.”

Shandong Province Government Submits Fast Track Application for New Treatment for Avian Flu Virus
Tuesday November 29, 8:00 am ET

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL and QUFU, CHINA--(MARKET WIRE)--Nov 29, 2005 -- Sunwin International Neutraceuticals, Inc. (OTC BB:SUWN.OB - News), an industry leader in the production and distribution of Chinese herbs, veterinary medicines and low calorie natural sweetener (Stevia) in China, will seek approval for "Hypericin" as a new veterinary medical application to treat avian flu. The Department of Livestock Farming for Shandong Province Government has recently submitted a fast-track application to the Livestock Farming Bureau of China Ministry of Agriculture for approval of Hypericin on behalf of Sunwin International Neutraceuticals, Inc. as a new veterinary medicine to treat avian flu virus. Hypericin is a derivative of St. Johns Wort, which is an English word for a Chinese herb manufactured by Sunwin. Sunwin has manufactured Hypericin since 1997.

In recent laboratory tests, Hypericin has proven effective as a treatment for poultry infected with strands of the avian flu. The South China Agricultural University has recently finished a clinic test of a medicine developed by the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. The result showed hypericin, which is isolated from hypericum perforatum, had cured all poultry infected by the deadly H5N1 avian flu for the experiment. The in vitro experiments indicated that when H5N1 and H9N2 avian flu viruses were treated with hypericin at 3.72 mg/ml for 30 minutes, hypericin killed 100% of the viruses. When these viruses were treated with hypericin at 0.744 mg/ml for 10 minutes, hypericin killed over 99.99% of the viruses.

Laiwang Zhang, President and Chairman of Sunwin International Neutraceuticals, Inc., stated, "The approval could pave the way for Hypericin as a commercial application for the treatment of livestock populations in China. If approved, the demand for Hypericin should increase substantially worldwide. Furthermore, the new application can lead to successful development of the new medicine will not only help prevent the epidemic on birds and control the spread in those places which have reported outbreaks, but also can give some idea and experience to the development of new drug for human."

Mr. Zhang concluded, "We expect the demand for hypericin is tremendous for months to come upon the approval, as the Chinese government has announced it would spend $1 billion in the fight against bird flu virus. Currently, the company is producing several tons every year and is able to produce approximately 100 to 150 tons per year. The company is able to add the production up to 300 tons production capability per year within months if the market demand increases. The market price of hypericin is approximately $50,000 per ton."

I think this one will be a slow steady mover for months to come. According to their American rep, there are currently 44M O/S. 20M in the float and 24M are controlled by management.

They just commenced full production of their Stevia product in September after ramping up and changing the location of their production facilities.
SUWN also just signed a contract with United States Distribution Corp ("USDC") to distribute Stevia in the US. "USDC has relationships with 55,000 retail outlets across the U.S., including warehouses, mass retailers, grocery stores, pharmacies, restaurants, hotels, casino's, convention centers, stadium concessions, gas stations, convenience stores, and natural food chain stores."
I am a newbie but this seems like a solid company moving forward. The company is projecting record earnings in fiscal year 2006 and 2007.

Does anyone have any dirt on this company before I start adding more?

The U.S. SUWN rep got back with me today. I had sent him another short email asking about the 5M share dilution that had been filed a while back and he replied:

"Hello Ryan, SUWN does have some more PR coming out, as far as dilution, they did an SB2 a while back and it recently cleared. They dont have any immediate plans to do another offering. Sunwin is growing by leaps and bounds. If I could be of any help please let me know."

Once this thing breaks .25 I think the gains will be more signifigant.
