Well, at 3 when the interview started, the pps was about 4.45. The stock closed at 4. I thought it went okay, but i guess the rest of the shareholders thought different. Oh well, I'm staying in. >

Re: BIRD FLU stocks  ** LIST THEM HERE **

you think NVAX will see $5.00 tommorrow......

surely...

Re: BIRD FLU stocks  ** LIST THEM HERE **

NVAX is heavily shorted, and I believe that's the main reason we've saw this drop in pps today. The big volume makes it harder for "shorters" to cover so tey'll be panicking if the pps holds above 4.00 tomorrow. The technicals projects a 6$ in the next few days ... possible by Friday. I would not be surpised to see another drop tomorrow morning but once it picks up the steam it goes. I'm averaged at 4.6 and I'm thinking to buy some more on this dip tomorrow ... NVAX did not have three loosing days in a row so I may not be ":lucky" to pick some shares at 4.00
Good luck to all.

I belive these Financial Institutions did not buy at 4.30 just to loose the money! That's re-assuring enough for me.

NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--Novavax Inc.'s (NVAX) avian flu-vaccine strategy is in line with President George W. Bush's plans to prevent a potential pandemic, Chief Executive Rahul Singhvi said in an interview on CNBC Wednesday.

"Our strategy is very much aligned with what the president has outlined," Singhvi said. "The way our technology works is we work with genes, we take the important genes out of the flu virus and clone them...They are completely safe, they are incapable of replicating in the body."

He said the company's technology allows it to work with the most emergent strain of the virus.

Early Wednesday, Novavax entered into definitive agreements to raise $18 million through the issuance of 4.18 million shares of its stock at a price of $4.30 per share.

He said that money will be funneled into avian flu-vaccine development.

HEB Should move again today

HEB news:
Studies Continue to Highlight Hemispherx's Ampligen(R) as Broadly Effective Adjuvant to Avian Influenza Treatments
Thursday November 3, 8:30 am ET
Ampligen(R) Demonstrates Strong Therapeutic Synergy with Relenza(R)

PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 3, 2005--Hemispherx Biopharma, Inc. (AMEX: HEB - News) announces that the NIH supported independent study at the Utah State University has recently completed research that shows Ampligen®, a Hemispherx experimental immunomodulator, demonstrates strong therapeutic synergy with Relenza® (Zanamivir).

In the study, researchers analyzed the effect of a combination of Ampligen® and Zanamivir on an influenza H5N1 infection in MDCK cells as determined by a cytopathic effect inhibition assay. Zanamivir had zero inhibitory activity when given alone (0.0032 microgram per milliliter) against the avian flu virus, however when co-administered with very low doses of Ampligen® (1 microgram per milliliter) it was shown to be 100% inhibitory.

With the threat of an avian influenza pandemic rising and health officials warning that the virus could develop resistance to current flu treatments, the pursuit of a cost-effective and capable adjuvant to existing antivirals and vaccines has become critical. This combination may permit the use of lower dosages and fewer injections of the antivirals and vaccines used to combat avian flu, thereby decreasing the cost of both immunization programs and treatment programs for the full-blown disease.

In antimicrobial (antibacterial) therapy, which is the best-studied clinical model, synergistic drug combinations may result in curative conditions/outcomes, often not observed when the single drugs are given alone. In the case of avian influenza where global drug supplies are presumptively in very limited supply relative to potential needs, therapeutic synergistic combinations could not only affect the disease outcome, but also the number of individuals able to access therapies. Cell destruction was measured in vitro using different drug combinations.

Hemispherx recently announced that true therapeutic synergy had been observed in the interaction between Ampligen® and Tamiflu in the inhibition of the Avian influenza virus. True therapeutic synergy is defined by mathematical equations which indicate that the therapeutic effect observed is in fact greater than the expected arithmetic sum of the two drugs working independently, and is referred to by pharmacologists as the "Chou/Talalay" equations developed at Johns Hopkins University.

In a recently reported study from a vaccine group in Japan, the incorporation of poly I: poly C (dsRNA) into a nasal administration of a killed influenza A preparation converted a poorly immunogenic response into a highly efficacious vaccine in protection of mice from lethal infection from human influenza A.

Hemispherx Biopharma recently disclosed they entered into a collaboration with HollisterStier Laboratories of Spokane, Washington, for the contract manufacturing of Hemispherx's experimental drug, Ampligen®. The achievement of the initial objectives, in combination with the Polymer production facility under construction in New Brunswick, N.J., will enable Hemispherx to significantly increase production capacity.

Re: BIRD FLU stocks  ** LIST THEM HERE **

i was looking at this forum a while back when mbah blew up like crazy.. since then ive been busy with school and the summer and what not.. i just put $5000 into an ameritrade account.. i initially was gonna buy sony but these pennies are where its at if you know how to play them.. but i bought nvax yesterday at $4.27 over 500 shares and over 4000 shares of NNVC.. both have hopped back up and should both pot nice returns.. i definitely think these might even be midterm plays.. imagine if the flu hits the US or morphs into a human flu.. these stocks will fly.. so im in it midterm cuz there may be some enormous gains within a month or two

Re: BIRD FLU stocks  ** LIST THEM HERE **

Re: BIRD FLU stocks  ** LIST THEM HERE **

Check this out, http://www.cdc.gov/flu/weekly/weekly...5/weekly08.htm

February is the month that the flu hits the strongest in the US, so with that in mind we have about 3-4 months for these stocks still.

Also, its been stated that the bird flu vacinne could take 2 years or longer to be developed. The bird flu has been around since 1997 and is really now just becoming a bigger issue. If a cure isn't found this could play for a long time, as long as the media stays on top of it (probably won't for that long). We're going to havea good ride for a while though .... so it seems.

Re: BIRD FLU stocks  ** LIST THEM HERE **

NVAX is getting ripped right now.... the deal they made with the 4 mil. shares for $4.30 slowed the run a little... but, this is crazy.... I dont see how it is down on the day as of right now.... HUGE volume everyday.... what a rip...... I still say this stock reaches $6 easily next week

Re: BIRD FLU stocks  ** LIST THEM HERE **

The CDC says once a pandemic starts they can last years, and a cure isn't always found right away. If this happens these could run for a while because even after flu season is over they'll be working damn hard to make sure the next one is better....

Of course this is all speculation that something may happen with this flu, but that's what we;re all hoping for, right? :-* (im a horrible person :'()

Re: BIRD FLU stocks  ** LIST THEM HERE **

I was in at 4.05, still hoping that it will rally next week .. market cap is huge so I dont think there is immediate need for panic selling. Institutional investors bought ar 4.30 and up and seems like most of them are holding onto it. If fact, 3.90 is pretty low to get in right now !

Re: BIRD FLU stocks  ** LIST THEM HERE **

yea its definitely those $4.30 shares but they need the money for research and trials.. im in at 4.27 and am not panicking.. i ex[ect it to see $6 and maybe even $7.. volume is still huge.. i think however that these stocks may start to drop after a few months even though the flu will be out there without a cure.. i guess im a little impatient after seeing nice returns on nnvc.. but im gonna still ride both of them for a few months...
