Pros: Amazing iphone app w/ great charts and indicators

Cons: Slightly pricier commissions. Their platform has a steep learning curve.

Nothing but great experiences from ToS.  Their platform and Iphone app (primarily what I use) is amazing.  The platform does take some getting used to, but is very functional.  The iphone app puts all others I've seen to shame. The bid/ask are up to the second, it gives you all the info you need in just a few screens, and the execution speed is great.  The commissions can be expensive, but with the per-share option it comes out to less than the 9.99 cap for orders less than 660 shares.   I would definitely recommend Tos to all of my friends.

Pros: Wonderful tools and platform

Cons: Since the TDA integration, TOS has been absolutely horrible.

The entire platform takes some getting used to and the max profit/loss that shows up entering and exiting a trade might look a bit scary to new traders. ThinkorSwim offers a wonderful charting setup and is overall very easy to use. The drawing tools are easy to use, studies are clean, and non-intrusive. However, for me ToS has been buggy at times. For example, there has been instances where I can't open a new position because of a system error which required me to call in to get fixed. Customer service is great, though, so there aren't any problems getting issues resolved. I would personally recommend ToS to any trader, but the platform may take a few days to get accustom to. Excellent for Trading

Pros: solid platform, top notch customer support

Cons: thinkscript (custom indicators) can be difficult at times

Platform is great. However, Thinkscript can be difficult at times. There's a lot of free sites with some talented programmers waiting to help you out though. There is also a paid site for thinkscript as well, although I'm not a subscriber so I don't know how great it is. I'm a short term (1-5 days) trader and I'm extremely satisfied with their product. Customer support is top notch.

Great Platform & Support

Pros: Hands down the best platform, great almost instant support

Cons: Not the cheapest commissions, Platform lags with many charts open

Started out with Scottrade, whose platform seems 20 years behind the TOS platform. It's not perfect, but I love the platform and the iPhone app enough to not make me want to switch brokers. Support is great, have had many good experiences and replies come within minutes, very fast. Eagerly waiting for the iPad app. They trade Forex & Futures as well which is great to have everything combined in one account. They are working on Prodigio, automated robot trading which is an exiting new product I am using to test strategies. You can short stocks under $5 and reserve shares for hard to borrow stocks. Commissions are negotiable.

Pros: Lots of details for low price

I'm not gonna waste time telling you how great it is, it is a fabulous platform and the best free platform you can get, but it can stand to have a lot of improving.   Here is a list of things I dislike about it.....   1. The manual for designing indicators is horrible, and when you ask for specifics on how to write an indicator, then they just tell you that they can't help you and that you need to read the manual again. Which is terrible when you are trying to write something based on stereo instructions. Many of the indicators can be written, but the few that can't based off of the manuals examples makes me not like their customer support.   2. I talk to...

Most bang for the buck

Pros: Everything you could want

Cons: Lags when you have alot of screen open - Wish it wasnt TDA :)

Love the platform, the Commission  is great. Cheapest your going to get for the features. Customer service is always glad to assist and make changes or match rates. Practice account (paper) is always a plus also.
