(1) You go to the "trade" tab, then click on "Pre-Market/After hours" tab. You must always enter a buy limit during these two extended sessions. No market orders are allowed.
(2) Yes, pre-market and after hours prices are directly related but during after hours the % gain shown on the live stream quote is not the toal % increase/decrease during A/H session. That is the toal gain/loss during regular market hours.
(3) You would put the order at $49.85 if you decide to purchase the stock at that level(it depends on the bid and ask prices as well).
(4) $46.67. That is the starting asking price for the stock. If the stock rises or falls, depending if your long or short, the % gain/loss is still accumulated for the total day % total gain/loss.

Another thing I'm really confused about-- is the pre-market /after hours price gain / loss any way related to the normal hours trading price?
For example, NVDA:
48.96 +2.63 (5.68%) Aug 29 4:00pm ET
Open: 47.37
High: 49.02
Low: 47.20
Let's say this occurs in After Hours:
48.95 -0.20
If you were to purchase 1000 shares of NVDA at this time what price are you getting it for?
The other part I'm confused about is in pre-market hours.
Let's say this occurs during pre-market:
NVDA = 46.67 +2.00
If you buy at this point, what price are you getting the shares for?
Also, when the market opens and the stock goes up do you start from a break even point or do you keep whatever was earned in the pre-market?
Sorry i'm not really sure how to put down my question but I hope someone can explain how this works or direct me to a topic that explains it. (couldn't find one).
Thanks a lot!
