CMSFX

This is from my live account, I opend it with $4000 the other day and I never traded on Vtrader before so I don't know how this works (used a lot of their charts though). I got a trade that I accidentally closed because I dident know that I was suppose to click the hedge buttom to take an opposite position, I don't know if it was in profit or not because I can't see my past orders on Vtrader for some reason.

What is balance, is it the orginal deposit + realized gains or losses?

The balance says 4019.95. That is 19.50 more than my deposit. Would that mean that my closed trade was in profit?

CMSFX has been amazing by the way. All the payments went through and never had to call tech support once. Got all my swaps on time too. I'm going to drop $8000 more with them.

Yeah, you made $19.50. To see your trades and P/L you have to go to "trading windows" and click on "reports". I couldnt find it originally either.

It was hiding there the whole time. Thanks. I should have tried the order system out on a demo before live trading.

Ok I'm now more confused. I'm beginning to sound like a noob.

4603.22 equity is not what it says on my platform so I subtracted premium or also called swap (97.20) from it and got 4506.02 which is only 18 cents away from what the platform is reporting. No big deal. Now...

Looking at my order history I did make a profit but it was on 1 trade, over all I'm losing $57. How did that postively affect my balance?

Do they credit you interest on unused Margin?

Yes, that says your down 57 bucks. You did 1 short and 3 longs. 3 at 1 mini lot and 1 at 2 mini's. one was closed with only 1 pip loss.

I never seen that screen before btw. Now I learned something new.
What I do is this:
The first image you posted in the first post, with the "Account Balance".
I right click the line with your info.
Then I click "Reports"

This opens up a browser window asking how far back you want to go, and I get a really nifty page, with beginning balance, ending balance, a table with my trades, Settled trades, open orders, open positions, and total P/L.
That's what I've always used.

That first screen you're looking at is misleading too. It looks like you have an open position. This screwed me up two times and gave me a margin call for misunderstandings.
That 4019 is how much your worth at that moment. If you go down or up a pip it will change. '
Or maybe that was equalty. hm.....
I think I'm right and equalty is how much your position is worth at that moment, and the 4019 is constant.

Forget it. But USDMRG is how much money is being held per lot. That stays constant and you get that back if you hit 0 dollars. And so on. It's very selfexplanatory. I haven't held a position open that long where I looked at it in a while, luckily.

Ok my balance grew by $20. I closed my platform and opened it back up again it grew $20. Now this was hours after the market closed. This stuff is confusing. I'm not complaning but how could this happen. I don't think they'll give me that much money on unused balance.

I'm pretty sure if you right clicked that and hit "reports" the client reports should break it down and tell you what's going on. Or almost should.

it's weird because your netP/L didn't change. Just all your equality.

John: If you do not have any open positions, then the equity of your account will be your balance
John: If you have open positions, the equity will be adjusted as such
you: so equity is balance + net P/L?
John: Equity = used margin + useable margin
John: Balance will fluctuate with net P/L
John: As the same with equity
you: So if I have 641 in profit and balance of 4060. I'll have 4701 when I close out my trades?
John: The balance will reflect the new value when all positions are closed
you: ok thanks
Note to self. Don't talk to John. I have no ideal what John was talking about. He was side stepping questions and quoting from VTrader help files.

I think I figured it out on my own.

Here's how I did on this account since last Wednesday.

I'll hand it to CMSFX. I can now do orders on my laptop again with the new version.

But some reason my desktop kept asking to upgrade. And I don't have any of those little icons I can paste in the charts anymore.

I'm not doing this hedging thing right though. Think my new 19 hour old plan isn't quite right. Just made 5 pips with part of the new strategy, but 10 pips down in the other way! And that 10 pips was the hedge I did after the order! Only work if euro/dollar reversed and breaks back in in the direction of the new low. I think the CMSFX hedging feature is really for buying/selling right in the middle and getting a range both ways
Don't know how it works elsewhere. I needed to rant.
Yikes.

Or...I make the hedge with less lots!

Update. Closed it manual losing the spread on the hedge. Not fond of that whole feature, or maybe it's when you're first decision was right.

Anyway, it makes sense. Your equality including your profit or loss at the moment. That's what you're worth. That equality goes to zero, you get the price of your lot back, and that's what you're worth. Technically the equality never hits zero. The USBMRG will. And he doesn't want to say that's what you'll get if you close the positions, because the price will fluctuate by a pip or so. But yes, I think he's agreeing what your assessment.
