My 2 cents.
Imma complete nub.
I like metatrader 4 forex platform. It has oogles of TA Indicators;
Check out Metaquotes, they explain the TA stuff.
Second to that, I like fxsol.com's platform as well.
Babypips is an awesome read.
Forexnews has umm... news.
I'm not an idiot. I choose not to use proper engrish.

I'm still a nub.
This is what I learned as a noob.
Trading on forex. 1 of 2 ways I see of making gains.
1) Get the 1-10 pips worth while the pair is channeling.
Channeling eh? Find your support and resistance. Let it bounce back and forth. Get in at either of the extremes, and close at the opposite.
2) Get over 10 pips from breaks.
Same support and resistance. You see it break it with at least 4 small bars or 2 long bars (assuming your using candlesticks), open some positions.
Why do they break? hmm.. news maybe?

Newbie here as well and have been doing just that and it's working so far. What is your favorite chart? I had the most success with the 30 minute chart for identifying a channel and the 10 minute chart for the entry and exit points (since while it's in the channel, it rarely actually hits the support/resistance).

I look at the bigger picture first using a 4 hour chart. After identifying general trend, I move down to a 15 or 30 minute chart.
