Busiest time in Forex IMO is the New York Sessions, and the London Sessions over nite can be nice too. London--starts around 2am, and New York would be starting around 7am/8am..EST for all. NEWS days are also important for big moves and trade possibilities--check the Forex News Thread here for what is happening in your pair..

As for what pairs--that is a personal preference I would guess and varies for each person.. I personally like AUD/USD and USD/JPY and GBP/USD....and for cross pairs, I also REALLY like EUR/GBP cause its double the pips for each trade... But its up to you to find a pair that "talks" to you..IMO...

I would suggest you a pick a few pairs you like, and study what moves them. It helps a lot if you find a few pairs you like and get to know them and get used to seeing them...then they become easier to figure out how they react and when they move and what moves them and you can quickly form a plan for trading those after you see what they do...rather then bounce around lookin for a trade on a pair you know nothing about..

Get to know the pair that will make or break yor account.

thanks for the chart. It's very frustrating accidentally getting in on a currency during a consolidation period. My losses today were because I accidentally got in on a consolidation. Still. I made 20 pips today. I could have had 40 but was trying to hit a home run.

So New Zealand and Australia should be opening right about now. 7:50 EST.

GMT is about 2 hours behind EST. Right?
