Host Hotels & Resorts, Inc. operates as a self-managed and self-administered real estate investment trust (REIT). The Company owns properties and conducts operations, through Host Hotels & Resorts, L.P., which is a limited partnership, of which Host Hotels & Resorts, Inc. is the sole general partner, and in which it holds approximately 98% of the partnership interests. As of February 17, 2010, the Company’s lodging portfolio consisted of 110 luxury and upper-upscale hotels containing approximately 61,000 rooms. As of December 31, 2009, the Company acted as the asset manager for two hotels totaling 1,001 rooms located in Tokyo, Japan and Sydney, Australia. On September 11, 2009, the Company sold its remaining 3.6% limited partnership interest in CBM Joint Venture Limited Partnership, which owned 115 Courtyard by Marriott properties (CBM JV). During the year ended December 31, 2009, the Company disposed of six hotels.
