But not fishing the Great lakes and the oceans sure does.

We have commercial fishermen fishing the rivers here in Alabama.

and commercial catfish farms are very common a little further south.

I dont think this is real. Then again, who knows. The states make too much money off of fishing licenses, wilderness permits, etc... WAIT! thats it! Screw the states even more, make it a crime to feed yourself, every tyrants dream.

Primarily China. Several other Asian states are also huge exporters of fish and fish products. Outside of the South most of what is sold as catfish is a similar species native to China and the far east. The same goes for quite a lot of other species that are popularly sold in America. Since China, Vietnam etc.. are not limited to narrow areas and relatively small hauls they are already approaching our own domestic production. Much of what is sold in stores is not the local or domestic species you think it is, but rather an asian variety.
