Remember, of the URL, the only part you put in between the [youtube] code is the part I underlined, which is all of the URL after the equal (=) sign in the Youtube URL.
If done correctly it will display this (which, if you need to see what the actual code looks like, begin to quote this post and the code will be visible):

• Keep all losses small and manageable.

Is there a preferred or recommended maximum size for posting pictures to keep it from enlarging the page when it's posted too big in size?
That typically has to do with the size of the picture and if its square or landscape etc. A good rule of thumb is to consider a basic forum layout being 640x480 max. 320x240 is often preferred. Over that and it begins to stretch the forum layout badly or it shall not 'fit' best in the current HSM forum windowpanes. Now you will never really get that actual size as pic sizes will vary--but try to use those numbers as a guideline so you can roughly know what to expect.
So when folks find a pic on the web they like, its best to check the size before you just link to that pic. IMO If a pic shoots far over 800x600 you may have your post removed by a Mod entirely...because it can disrupt a thread (and if the Mod is nice and has time he/she will simply re-size it for you and re-edit it--but we dont' always have time for that...so police your own posts please).
If its bigger then 640x480 then you will want to save that picture and re-size it and then upload it to a place like imageshack or photobucket to host and provde the link to you for. (TIP: Imageshack host for example will re-size the images you upload to host for you if you click that optionto resize so you do not have to photoshop it or crop it down yourself).

Thanks. So it's the width that's most critical. I'm a Photoshop fanatic, so I typically resize most pictures anyway.
I just created an account with imageshack, so I'm ready to start adding pictures when I see the need. A few times I wanted to, but didn't have the time at that moment to go out and create an account somewhere.
