I'm starting with a fresh slate and a single goal..
My only goal and target is to follow my risk management rules like they are laws of the land.
I will be trading forex exclusively, with some analysis of other indices on occasion.

Pretty much, i want to see how good or bad i truly am at trading. Because i don't know what should be a personal good return, a bad return, or if i can even come out on top with my analysis. Im almost positive i'll make some kind of positive return, but i need to get a grasp on the numbers i am truly working with before i progress any further or dedicate any more capital.

This way i have over 5 chances with $1000 to figure myself out, and it'd take me a long time to lose $1000 with the risk management i am proposing.

Rules:
1. All trades must have a stop loss and target upon entry.
2. Never more than 3.3% of the total account will be at risk at any given moment(=3 position Max).
3. Every trade will risk 1.1% of my available Risk equity.
4. Risk/Reward must be greater than or equal to 1.75:1 or the trade idea is thrown out, with a target average RR of >2:1
5. Adding to positions is only acceptable on trades with RR>2.5 and in positive territory with a tightened stop, and never more than a 20% increase in position size.
6. Let stops play out to the full extent unless i provide un-emotional concrete reasons for doing so.
7. Bringing targets closer is acceptable, but frowned upon, and must be justified, and never more than 15% of expected profit.
8. Never take a trade risking less than 15pips.
9*. Tightening stops is only allowed on trades with a RR>2.5.

Rule 5 and 9 are really judgment calls that i will be paying close attention to, and will be very careful with. Anyone with experience using similar rules.. feel free to chime in. But i feel the parameters for these 2 rules are well chosen and pretty conservative in any case..

Figured I would make a NFP / US Economic thread--which I hope may be helpful if folks want to post monthly NFP results to track them here etc..to see how job growth is (or is NOT) progressing in the US economy.. OR to discuss possible trends or changes in the US economic status and so on...

For July: U.S. Nonfarm Payrolls Tumble -131K in July

This link below tracks the NFP & economy moves...on a nice chart which I find useful and can use for research for numbers & data..

http://www.tradingeconomics.com/Econ...spx?Symbol=USD

Also to note--the BLS of course puts out a report also tracking and detailing the NFP and details the job sector info==which can also be informative & telling.. Here ya go...

http://www.bls.gov/news.release/pdf/empsit.pdf

Hope folks find these links helpful & informative for their trading plans..

Oh--and anyone who still thinks the US Economy is 'recovering to greatness' and won't 'crash hard' by the end of this year--I have a big ole bridge in Brooklyn to sell you cheap. :D

I've been doing a lot of research and I've finally decided I want to swing trade. I have a swing trading strategy now I Just need to figure out which market I want to trade.

The strategy is pretty much just following the trend on the daily and buying the pullback. So I guess my main question is should I be trading stocks with options or forex? Which markets trend better?

I just don't know if I would have enough opportunities to be trading with forex? Can you make more money in the long run from stocks or forex? I never really hear about anyone sucessful at forex besides wolf lol. Seems like they all make a good bit of money and over leverage and waste there entire account?

Would love to hear from you guys! :Booyah:
